Q: What is a "Pets only Crematorium"?
A: Under current regulations, household pets are only allowed to be cremated in certain facilities. Many of these facilities are licenced to cremate a wide range of other items. These include surgical waste, clinical waste, laboratory waste and other assorted animal waste. A "pet only crematorium" such as Bedford Pet Cremations only cremate household pets. You can be assured our service ensures your pet is collected and treated as an individual and will not share transportation that may include any of these other "waste" products. Unfortunately, the existing regulations treat your pet as a "waste" product and while we are fully licensed to handle this "waste", we provide a personalised and dignified service treating your animal with the respect it deserves.

Q: What is the difference between an individual and communal cremation?
A: An individual cremation is exactly that, your pet will be cremated on its own, no other pet (or other waste material) will be cremated at the same time. The cremated ashes returned to you are guaranteed by Bedford Pet Cremations to be the ashes (and only the ashes) of your pet. A communal cremation is one where a number of pets will be cremated together.

Q: Why should I use the facilities at Bedford Pet Cremations?
A: We are a dedicated "Pets Only" crematorium and will deal with your loss in a personal and sympathetic manner. Our aim is to help you through the difficult times you face with the loss of a dear pet and companion. Our individual and personal service will endeavour to ease your grief, provide you with peace of mind and return the ashes of your much loved pet as soon as possible after cremation.

Q: What should I do if my vet provides a different service?
A: Many vets have a contract which covers them for all of their "waste" requirements - this includes clinical waste etc. If you are happy to use this type of service that is perfectly OK. However, you are under no obligation to use the service recommended by your vet. If you choose to use an alternative such as Bedford Pet Cremations, simply inform the vet and they can contact us to collect, cremate and return your pet or alternatively you may contact us direct to handle all the details.

Q: What guarantees do I have?
A: At Bedford Pet Cremations you have our personal guarantee that your pet is treated with respect and that the cremated remains will be returned to you. Our facility is open on most days and you are welcome to visit provided you give us 24 hours notice.

Q: Why should I have my pet cremated?
A: If you wish to remember your pet, cremation is one of the best ways to do this. Cremation gives you the opportunity to have your pets ashes kept close to you and also makes it much easier to take your pets remains with you if you move home.

Q: What are your opening times/When are you able to collect my pet?
A: We are open 7 days a week and within reason you can call on us at any time to collect your pet. If you are unable to get through on the telephone, please leave a message, text our mobile number or e-mail us and we will endeavour to reply to you as soon as possible.

Q: What areas do you cover?
A: Bedford, Luton, Dunstable, Milton Keynes, Rushden, St. Neots, Biggleswade and everywhere in-between.
